We study inflammatory skin diseases, in particular, acne, rosacea, hidradenitis suppurativa, and atopic dermatitis. We conduct human subjects research and incorporate ‘omics methodologies to gain insights into the disease pathogeneses.
Current Projects
Multi-omic studies of local and systemic immune dysregulation in rosacea
Observational, longitudinal study profiling the gut microbiome of acne patients, undergoing oral doxycycline or isotretinoin therapy
Profiling the skin microbiome of acne patients, using the full-length 16S rRNA gene sequences
Genome-wide DNA methylation analysis in the whole blood of hidradenitis suppurativa patients
Spatial transcriptomic profiling of the hidradenitis suppurativa skin
Elucidating the role of pharmacomicrobiomics in hidradenitis suppurativa patients
Validating the host-microbiome sequencing methodology in human skin samples
